Flat cork bark is one of the most useful things you can put in an enclosure. Lay it flat across bedding and it becomes a shaded burrow entrance. Prop it at an angle and it's a ramp. Rest it on a granite platform and you've made a cave. Your hamster decides which — and that choice is the enrichment.

How to use it Bury one edge in bedding so the underside becomes a tunnel mouth, or bridge it between two levels. If you're building a multi-chamber burrow, cork bark makes an excellent chamber roof — hamsters will dig underneath and turn it into a permanent nest site.

Care Spot-clean with a dry brush. If it needs a deeper clean, rinse and dry completely before returning it to the enclosure. Replace when it becomes heavily chewed or soiled.
